This past weekend saw the birth of the new fundraising milestone in Living Camp history. On Saturday June 5, we made 434 zongzi (粽子)in one day; a new world Living Camp record!!! Thanks to the many many volunteers that took time out of their schedule to help wrap the chinese tamales for us! On that day, we actually had 94 extra that was not scheduled to be distributed but had NO problems selling it on-the-spot purchases from the parishioners at St. Bridget CCC (Chinatown) and St. Thomas More (Irvine).
Our final distribution date is set for June 13 after the Chines Masses at St. Thomas Aquinas (Monterey Park) and St. Justin Martyr (Anaheim).
FINAL DISTRIBUTION
DATE: JUNE 13
WHERE:
St. Thomas Aquinas (Monterey Park); 9AM Mass
St. Justin Martyr (Anaheim); 2:00PM Mass
WHEN: After the Chinese Mass

Following the zongzi distribution at St. Thomas More this past Sunday, the Promotions Team drove down to the San Diego Chinese Catholic Community. We got to reunite with campers from 2008! Let’s hope for a bigger participation from our friends by the border!

Last week, we did our pre-sale events at St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Church and the Orange County ChineseCatholic community in Irvine. Thank you everyone for your continuing support! In Orange County, we had some dashing young men sport a home-made zongzi hat for attracting sales! Boy did it work!!! Thanks Josh & Peter for being our models!
Want to have fun making zongzi? We’re looking for volunteers to help with wrapping! No prior experience necessary. Click on the following link to sign-up! Zongzi Sign-up Form
A BBQ fundraising lunch was held on May 23 at SBCCC. Thanks to the many volunteers that came to help prepare, cook, and clean. A special thank goes out to Michael Lau for volunteering his services in preparing this whole event. His food was definitely satisfying for all.
Happy Easter everyone!

Holy Week is fast approaching which means we don’t have much time left before this joyous season of Lent is over. So how have you been doing? Have you been able to hold fast to your lenten practices? Whether we have persevered or stumbled, let us take the rest of Lent as an opportunity to make that dash toward rediscovery, reconciliation, and renewal with God.
As for the ExCo, we recently had a successful bake sale in Orange County. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!
Finally, I’ll close this post with a message from Paul; one of our Overall Coordinators.
Greetings!
As the co-overall coordinator I want to encourage you to come join us at this year’s Living Camp. Whether you’re returning or considering participating for the first time, this year’s retreat will be a great time for friends, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Some things will be the same (i.e. icebreakers, MAFIA!, late night cup-o-noodles, mailboxes, SKITS, praise and worship…), but we’ll have some new activities planned, too! I am proud to be part of a dedicated team of veterans who are working hard to make this year’s camp an awesome experience. I’m also very excited that we have Fr. Tom Betz from Holy Redeemer in Philadelphia back as our spiritual director for the second time! I hope you’ll help us spread the word about Living Camp and I’ll see you at Mission Santa Barbara this Labor Day Weekend!
In Christ,
Paul Yeh

Our co-Design Coordinator Elaine Hu has provided us with an answer!
Hi everybody!
We just started our February ExCo Meeting at St. Bridget CCC! Tonight’s big topic is the theme for 2010. After that, we’re gonna focus on upcoming fundraisers. So here’s a peek into our meeting!

For dessert, its gonna be portuguese!

Earlier today, four of our ExCo went to visit the mission to get ideas for their planning. Here’s a teaser for you all. I wonder what the promotion team is up to! Hmm….

Hi everybody!
This is Nick Lau, your 2010 CACCLC Web Coordinator. I’m excited to let you all know that our ExCo has been formed and running since the middle of Fall 2009. If you want to see who is on the team, please visit the ExCo page. We’ve already kicked off our first fundraiser during Advent and are continuing to plan for the living camp. We’re currently trying to finalize the theme for this year. Please keep the ExCo team in your prayers!
We’re proud to announce that our spiritual director for 2010 is Fr. Tom Betz, OFM Cap! Yup, Fr. Tom graciously accepted our invitation again. He was our spiritual director in 2008 when CACCLC was held at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, CA.
This year we are again proud to have CACCLC at another historic California mission: Mission Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is situated along the coast of California, about 100 miles north west of Los Angeles (less than 2hr drive from LA). We hope this historic and beautiful location will attract many of you to come!

Hope to see everyone there! Don’t forget to regularly check this website for updates and subscribe to our blog for more behind-the-scenes look of the ExCo!
